Simple Simple Vase for the Office

I decided I am going to try to keep fresh flowers on my desk at work as often as I can this school year - so here is the pretty little vase I made last night. You know how I love Starbucks Frappuchino bottle!
I just spray painted a tall one white - added a black and white ribbon that matches the decor in my office - (I have this ribbon around my bulletin board) added a string of stick on beads and a gold letter G.
I will cut some of my roses before I leave for work this morning but for now I added a couple of stalks of bamboo to show it off.

These are the roses I have blooming right now in my flower beds. I cut these last week and they lasted all week.

All For The Red, White & Blue Wreath

I have been trying to decide what kind of wreath to make for my front door for July. I looked at so many beautiful ones on Pinterest and I have seen tons of nice ones in blogworld. I already had my straw wreath - I usually keep a small stock on those. Today I finally found what I wanted to get er' done.

I think it is pretty self explanatory.

I found the little paper cutouts at Everything's $1 Store - 5 to a pack and they are glittered and on cardstock. I also bought the red and blue spools of ribbon and the garland there - so that is a total of  $4. Every thing is put together with floral pins.

I think I am pretty happy with it :-)

Sports Candy Bottle for the Boys (or Girls)

Seems like every craft I make is pretty feminine. I thought I would do something for the boys or tomboy girls. I know my oldest grandangel would go for it. She has a little tomboyism going on.

Items needed:
Starbucks Frappuchino Bottles
Sport related Candy - I found the foil wrapped chocolates with baseball, football, soccer and basketball wrapping foil.
Sport related Stickers - I use scrapbooking stickers
Ribbon or fabric - I had football themed fabric. I think I would prefer ribbon with sports theme - but was fresh out :-(
Spray paint for lid

Make sure your bottle is clean and dry. Spray paint the lid to the bottle. Slap on some cute stickers and tie a bow or ribbon - add candy...and there you have it.

I just love these bottles. I have used them for so many different things. They are just the perfect size for so many things and so easy to decorate. I have a few more ideas I will be sharing soon - so stay tuned.

Back To School Supplies in a Bottle

I've seen this done with baby items, birthday items, etc. I thought I would put a "back to school" spin on it.

Items needed:
Empty - clean & dry 2 liter soda bottle.
school supplies (I used crayons, colored pencils, scissors, pencil bag, pencils, glue stick, ruler)
Fun items (I used rubber band bracelets, Hello Kitty stickers)
Ribbon or Tulle

Once the bottle is clean and dry - make a long slit down the bottle. Place supplies inside making sure the most colorful sides of the packages are towards the outside.
Tie a big bow around the bottle - I chose to use different colors of tulle and made several bows. I also added some Hello Kitty stickers to the outside of the bottle.

I didn't have a card handy - but before I would give it as a gift I would add a card/giftcard inside as well.

This would make a pretty neat graduation gift, too - with pens, small notebooks, gift card to a bookstore or the graduates favorite store - maybe some gum or candy.
Use school colors for the bows.

It has been awhile since I have posted any of my scrapbooking pages. I have been working on 5 different pages for about a month and finally got 2 of them done.

Pin Parfait

I just love things to match. I bought the whole bolt of this fabulous fabric and have made all kind of things to decorate my new sewing/craft room. I just covered a styrofoam ball with some of the fabric and hotglued it into a glass ice cream dish - hot glued a big bow on front and there ya go - ready for my straight pins!
